TERMS OF SERVICE
What we supply,
and what we don't.
Last updated: 29 October 2026. These terms apply to every quote and delivery unless a signed agreement says otherwise.
The service.
1. Who we are. Davies Field & Flight is the trading name of Stephen Davies (sole trader, partita IVA 18323591000), Rome, Italy. Our services are for businesses and organisations, not consumers.
2. What we do. We process data supplied by you or published by a public body (images, point clouds, LiDAR, plans) into drawings, terrain models, volumes and visuals. Unless the quote says otherwise, we do not fly or visit site; a drone flight on request is quoted separately and carried out under the aviation rules that apply where the site is. We are not chartered surveyors, quantity surveyors, engineers or registered geometri, and our work is not a measured survey, a setting-out survey, an engineering design or a certified quantity.
3. Your data. You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and coordinate system of the data you supply, and for having the right to let us use it. We check the data as described in the quote; we do not re-survey or verify it beyond that. Errors in the source data carry through to the results.
4. Accuracy. Any accuracy figure we give is measured at the stated check points, by the stated method, on the stated date, and applies to those points only. Between check points, results depend on the source data. For public LiDAR we state the publisher's accuracy and claim nothing better.
5. Intended use. Our deliverables are for design development, planning, estimating and presentation. Before anything is set out, built, or used as a contract or payment quantity, you must have it checked by your own qualified surveyor or engineer. Visuals and flythroughs are illustrative only.
6. Volumes. Cut and fill figures are calculated between the surfaces stated in the delivery. They do not allow for bulking, compaction, topsoil strip, ground conditions or construction tolerances unless the quote says so.
If something is wrong.
7. Corrections. Please check each delivery and tell us of any error within 30 days. We will correct our own errors free of charge; that is the first remedy.
8. Liability. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any job is limited to the fee paid for that job, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, delay or the cost of works carried out on the basis of unchecked deliverables. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
9. Who may rely on it. Deliverables are prepared for the client named in the quote only. No one else may rely on them without our written agreement. Once paid for, you may use the deliverables for the project they were prepared for; source data stays under its own licence (for example the Environment Agency's Open Government Licence), and the drawings carry the attribution it requires.
10. Data and confidentiality. Project data is kept confidential, used only for the job, and deleted 60 days after delivery unless you ask us to keep it. We will not publish your project or show it as an example without your written permission. Where your data contains personal information, we process it only on your instructions. See the Privacy Notice.
11. Quotes and payment. Each quote is valid for 30 days and states the scope, deliverables, coordinate system, accuracy basis, exclusions, turnaround and price. Work outside the quote, including extra rounds of changes, is priced and agreed with you in writing before we do it. We are in the Italian flat-rate scheme (regime forfettario, art. 1, commi 54–89, L. 190/2014), so our invoices carry no Italian VAT; business clients in other EU countries account for any VAT themselves under the reverse charge, and invoices to clients in Italy carry the statutory stamp duty.
12. Law. These terms are governed by Italian law, and the courts of Rome have jurisdiction.
